Pillar I: The Creed

I Believe in God the Father Almighty

The Catholic faith begins with belief in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. God reveals Himself as Father — the source of all that exists, the eternal origin of the Son and Spirit, and the loving Father of all who are made in His image. Creation is good. The human person is created in God's image, with body and soul, called to communion with Him.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

CCC §198-421 unpacks the first article of the Apostles' Creed in depth. The Father is the origin and final goal of all things.
