Of Baptism

Baptism is not only a sign of profession, and a mark of difference whereby Christians are distinguished from others that are not baptized, but it is also a sign of regeneration, or the new birth. The baptism of young children is to be retained in the Church.

For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.

Methodists practice infant baptism — distinct from Baptist believer-only baptism. The covenantal "promise to you and your children" framing matters here.
